Watford vs Chelsea: Super Eagles stars Etebo and Dennis ruled out of Premier League clash
Watford will not have Nigeria duo Emmanuel Dennis and Oghenekaro Etebo available for their Premier League match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
KemiFilani reports that, as a result of a knee injury, Dennis has been sidelined for Watford’s last three matches.
The multi-talented forward suffered the injury on April 30, when the Hornets were playing Burnley at Vicarage Road and ended up losing 2-1.
This season, the 24-year-old forward has been Watford’s top scorer in the Premier League, tallying 10 goals in 33 appearances for the club.
As a result of Watford’s demotion to the Sky Bet Championship, it is widely anticipated that Dennis will leave the club during the summer.
Crystal Palace and West Ham United are rumored to be interested in the player, who reportedly has a price tag of around £20 million.
Because of an injury he sustained while practicing earlier in the week, his countryman Etebo won’t be able to participate in the game either.
Etebo’s season with Roy Hodgson’s team has been marred by injuries, and he has missed more than four months of action due to those ailments.
During the 1-1 home draw against Newcastle United in September of 2017, the 26-year-old suffered a muscle tear in his thigh and ultimately needed surgery to repair it.
The midfielder has only made nine appearances for Watford in the Premier League.
It was last summer when he made the move to Watford from Stoke City on a loan for the entire season. He is scheduled to go back to his original club at the conclusion of the current campaign.
