The reason behind Manchester United’s decision not to sign Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain has been revealed.
The Brazil international has since joined Saudi outfit Al Hilal, a decision that left the entire football world in shock.
The 31-year-old left Europe in a deal worth a whopping €100m, with the player set to earn up to $400m in the coming two years.
Manchester United have always been interested in signing Neymar and manager Erik ten Hag did not comprehensively squash rumours linking the Red Devils club with Neymar.
The Dutchman was asked about the potential signing of Neymar a few months back, and he had said, “When we have news, we will tell you.”
However, Manchester United could not sign the 31-year-old maestro because they are currently going through a rebuild.
This could be confirmed by Ten Hag’s treatment of Cristiano Ronaldo, the club is now aiming to recruit young young players .
