Former Premier League star, Danny Murphy, has said that he does not see Harry Kane’s departure as bad news for Tottenham.
Murphy said that the exit of the England international will actually be of help to manager Ange Postecoglou, who will now have more time to take the pressure off his job.
“I think in some ways it takes the pressure off him [the manager] because if they don’t hit the ground running and they don’t have a great start, people will just allude to the fact that, well, they’ve lost their best striker. They’ve lost Kane,” he said on talkSPORT.
He said that Tottenham will have to give their new manager some time to work his magic on this new squad.
“So I don’t worry for Tottenham and the manager moving forward,” he added.
“Do you bring someone in, do you give Richarlison a run at it? Do you place Son central or do you go out and find someone?
“And Postecoglou, to be fair to him, he knows the world market doesn’t he, he’s good at finding gems, finding diamonds in the rough.”
