Gabby Agbonlahor has questioned Arsenal’s potential move for David Raya to provide competition for Aaron Ramsdale.
The Brentford goalkeeper has emerged as a shock target for the Gunners after reportedly rejecting a move to Bayern Munich.
And while Agbonlahor believes the Spaniard is a great player, he has argued that neither him or Ramsdale would settle for being the No.2 choice.
Speaking on the Sports Breakfast, the ex-Aston Villa striker said: “How many teams do you see in the Premier League with two top keepers? You don’t.”
He added: “Teams don’t really have two top, top keepers, but if he [Raya] wants to go down that route, I’ll understand it – put pressure on Ramsdale – a couple of mistakes and you’re out.
“Look at Arsenal’s squad now, there’s players that can really push you, so I can see where he’s coming from, but just looking at the Premier League, teams don’t really have two top, top keepers.
“Neither of them will accept playing in the Carabao Cup and playing in the odd Premier League game when one is getting rotated, so interesting to see.”
