Transfer: Man Utd revive interest in Newcastle’s Martin Dubravka

Martin Dubravka, the goalkeeper for Newcastle United, is again of interest to Manchester United.

After allowing Dean Henderson to transfer on loan to Nottingham Forest for the season, United is looking for a new backup for David De Gea.

Alex McCarthy, Kevin Trapp, Yann Sommer, Odysseas Vlachodimos, Daniel Bachmann, and Giorgi Mamardashvili are just a few of the names United have been linked to recently. However, Dubravka has emerged as a potential target.

United considered Dubravka, 33, in January when Newcastle made a move for Henderson, and the Red Devils are back on his trail now that he has lost his starting spot to summer signing Nick Pope.

Daniel Zik, the agent for Dubravka, has acknowledged that his client is frustrated, but it is unclear whether he would relish a confrontation with De Gea.

“He wants to play. Either in Newcastle or somewhere else. He doesn’t just want to cover someone’s back, but he clearly wants to be in goal,” he said.

Zik also confirmed there was English interest when asked: “Yes, there are. But I really can’t be more specific at this point.”
