Transfer: Man Utd begin talks to sign Cody Gakpo, other updates

The Mirror claims that Manchester United has spoken to PSV Eindhoven about bringing in star forward Cody Gakpo in January.

Gakpo has been linked to Real Madrid, Arsenal, and Newcastle United, but United appears to be the best-positioned club to sign him given that they have already begun talks with PSV over a winter transfer.

As they attempt to balance their books, PSV is currently having some financial issues and may be forced to sell Gakpo next month.

This week, United made contact with the Dutch team, and it’s possible that they will pay less than £50 million to sign the 23-year-old versatile forward. If the two clubs agree on the transfer fee, personal terms should be merely formalities.

Other Man Utd transfer updates

Joao Felix

Manchester United’s efforts to sign Joao Felix during the January transfer window have received a big boost. After Cristiano Ronaldo’s contentious departure from United last month, the club is looking for a new center-forward.

Felix is one of many names that have been closely associated with a move to Old Trafford. The 23-year-old’s future at Atletico Madrid is uncertain as a result of Diego Simeone’s lack of playing time for him.

According to a new report by journalist Duncan Castles, the Spanish organization is willing to let Felix join a Premier League team on loan if the club is willing to pay a $8 million loan fee in addition to the player’s salary.

Malo Gusto

According to reports, Manchester United is getting ready to make a move for Malo Gusto, an exciting right-back who Real Madrid wants.

Apparently, United manager Erik ten Hag wants competition for first-choice right-back Dalot, and the board has approved a deal to bring in Gusto from Lyon next month, according to the French outlet Media Foot.

The attack-minded full-back is wanted by Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, among others, and the Red Devils are willing to pay €30 million for him.

Enzo Fernandez

Journalist Bruno Andrade claims that Manchester United has ‘overtaken’ Liverpool in the race to sign World Cup champion Enzo Fernandez.

Numerous European clubs have shown interest in Fernandez, who was awarded Young Player of the Year in Qatar.

Enzo’s release clause of €120 million is set to be activated by Erik Ten Hag in order to avoid needless transfer wrangles, but the Red Devils are reportedly stepping up their efforts to sign Enzo.

Goncalo Ramos

Following Cristiano Ronaldo’s contentious departure, the Red Devils are currently looking for a new striker, and it’s thought that the team is prepared to spend a lot of money on a top talent next month.

Cody Gakpo of PSV Eindhoven and Memphis Depay of Barcelona are two forwards who have been mentioned in relation to a move to Old Trafford.

And according to the Italian publication Calcio Mercato, Goncalo Ramos has been “chosen” by United manager Ten Hag to be his top center-forward going forward, even though Benfica is hesitant to let go of their prized asset in January unless his €120 million buy-out clause is activated.

Fred

The Sun claims that Paris Saint-Germain wants to make a surprise move for Fred, the midfielder for Manchester United.

Les Parisiens are still interested in the Brazilian despite the fact that his contract’s one-year extension was recently activated.

For an estimated £30 million fee, Manchester United will permit Fred to leave.
