Manchester United are interested in bringing Memphis Depay back to Old Trafford.
Only 18 months after arriving from Lyon, the 28-year-old forward is deemed surplus to requirements at Barcelona.
According to Sport in Spain, United have been closely monitoring Depay’s situation at Camp Nou in order to re-sign him.
During his first spell in Manchester, he was a costly failure, scoring seven goals in 53 games after joining for £31 million from PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2015.
He was sold to Lyon 18 months later, but with Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure, Erik ten Hag’s squad now has room for another striker.
It is unclear if a player who previously struggled in the Premier League and has only made three appearances for Barcelona this season is the Memphis Depay the Dutch coach wants.
However, the deal would be financially appealing, with the Spanish giants reportedly willing to let Depay leave for free if he agrees to rip up the remainder of his contract.
Barcelona is also interested in United’s Portuguese right-back Diogo Dalot, who has been one of Ten Hag’s early success stories at Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, Fichajes believes Bayer Leverkusen forward Moussa Diaby is also on the Red Devils’ radar.
