Manchester United have offered players to Atalanta in a player-plus-cash deal for Rasmus Hojlund – but the Italian club said no.
The Athletic claims Atalanta have put a £85.5million price tag on the 20-year-old striker, which United see as ‘excessive’.
They have tried to bring that price down by offering players, either on loan or in permanent transfers.
Fred and Donny van der Beek are two Red Devils mentioned in the report who are deemed surplus to requirements and available in a possible transfer.
But Atalanta reportedly ‘did not express any interest in the players proposed by United’.
Instead, they want the transfer fee paid in full, and it means the Premier League giants may be forced to move on to other targets.
