Former Everton defender, Joleon Lescott, has named Arsenal as the club that stood out in the just concluded summer transfer window
The former Premier League defender believes the Gunners and Nottingham Forest had the best summer transfer window after the deadline passed.
KemiFilani recalls that clubs in England spent a record £2.44bn on new players as the window closed at 11pm on Friday.
While Chelsea were the biggest spenders with £434.5m, Manchester City came second with £212.3m, Arsenal paid £208m for new players and Manchester United forked out £183.5m.
Lescott hailed the business done by Arsenal while also highlighting positive windows for Tottenham and Nottingham Forest.
“I would say Arsenal, in regards to which positions they needed to strengthen,” he said, according to Metro.
“Also Nottingham Forest. They were a lot more efficient this year.
“Last year they got a lot of players in, but this time around there was a better understanding of what they needed.”
