Fabinho’s transfer from Liverpool to Al-Ittihad is on the verge of collapse, according to The Athletic.
The Brazil midfielder is now expected to rejoin pre-season training with Liverpool.
The 29-year-old had been in talks with the Saudi Arabian club over a £40million switch.
Talks remain ongoing but there has been a delay in the deal.
The Brazilian midfielder is now expected to return to training on Wednesday, unless a resolution is found.
Fabinho was left out of Liverpool’s pre-season training camp in Germany by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp due to the prospective transfer.
Liverpool’s squad have returned to the UK, but will soon be jetting out on their pre-season tour in Singapore.
The Reds are set to face Leicester on July 30, before playing reigning German champions Bayern Munich on August 2.
