Ally McCoist has told Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher that he must leave the club if he wants to play in the World Cup, amidst a significant bid for his services.
Gallagher was on loan to Crystal Palace for the previous season. He made 34 Premier League appearances for the Eagles, scoring eight goals and dishing out three assists. Palace finished 12th in the table as a result.
In case Gallagher is permitted to leave Chelsea in the last few days of the transfer window, clubs are keeping an eye on his situation.
According to The Times, Palace have taken action due to their interest in him. They assert that Patrick Vieira’s team have made Gallagher a £27 million offer.
Although it is not quite a record fee for Palace, it is close. The £28 million they spent on Christian Benteke in August 2016 was their largest acquisition to date.
On Monday, Palace made the offer to Chelsea, and they are now awaiting word on whether it will be sufficient to seal the deal for Gallagher.
