Arsenal have agreed to sign Brentford goalkeeper David Raya on an initial £3m loan.
The deal will see the Gunners have an option to buy for £27m next summer.
Speaking on the Transfer Show, Sky Sports News’ Dharmesh Sheth said: “We had told you Raya had entered the final year of his contract at Brentford, he has actually extended his contract at Brentford by a further year.
“Arsenal will take him on loan for a fee of £3m for the season, with the option to buy David Raya at the end of that loan for £27m.
“If Arsenal don’t take up that option next summer, Brentford are protected because they have extended Raya’s contract by a further season. Hence, they will still be able to get a transfer fee next summer.”
“We expect Raya to have a medical this week and the whole deal to be tied up within the next 48 hours.”
