Following a new offer from Manchester United to Antony for an Old Trafford contract, the Ajax star has acknowledged he can’t rule out leaving the club this month.
Early in the summer, the 22-year-old became United’s top attacking target, but Ajax’s demand for a club-record £78 million fee appeared to preclude a transfer.
Amsterdam expects that United will return with a new offer after returning earlier this week with a £68 million bid that was turned down.
With an Erik ten Hag reunion waiting for him in Manchester, the Brazilian has now acknowledged in a conversation with De Telegraaf that he is unable to guarantee that he will remain at Ajax this summer.
When asked if he could assure Ajax’s supporters that he would stay put, Antony replied, “No, to be very honest I can’t do that.
“What I can say is that I want to come to the right decision with my family, agents and Ajax, which is good for everyone. Ultimately, God determines my future.”
