Former Aston Villa forward Gabriel Agbonlahor has said that Harry Kane might want to stay at Tottenham if the club have a successful summer transfer window.
Agbonlahor said he can still see the England captain staying put at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for another season and beyond if things go well under new manager Ange Postecoglou.
According to the former Aston Villa captain, breaking Alan Shearer’s Premier League goal record may be a priority for the England striker who just needs 48 goals to achieve the feat.
“Harry Kane needs 48 goals to break Alan Shearer’s record – say he gets 25 goals this season and he’s at the end of his contract with Spurs, he’s got a decision to make then,” Agbonlahor told talkSPORT.
“Does he go to Manchester United?
“The signing of James Maddison, that’s a big signing for Spurs – Harry Kane will be looking at this as progress, and he’ll be looking for more players to come in the defensive positions
“But he might be thinking to himself, ‘Let’s give it one more go with Spurs this season, let’s see what the new manager can bring, let’s see where we can finish this season.
“Or, I’m sure Manchester United will still be there for him to go on a free transfer.”
