In order to turn around what has been a challenging season, Thiago Alcantara has urged Liverpool to get better in every area in the second half of the year.
The Reds, who placed second in the Premier League last year, will spend Christmas in sixth place, 15 points back of league-leading Arsenal.
Despite their domestic inconsistency, Thiago and his teammates are still participating in the Champions League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup.
Speaking after his side’s Dubai Super Cup victory over AC Milan, he said: “I think everything. As a football player, as now a Liverpool player and as a Liverpool fan, I think we have to improve everything. So, we have to achieve all trophies possible, we have start again the chase for first position – we know it’s tough – but we have other competitions as well so we are trying to chase everything.”
The Reds can salvage their reputation in the Champions League even though the Premier League appears out of reach. They will face Real Madrid again, this time in the round of 16, which starts in February, after losing the final to the Spanish team last year.
On December 22, the Reds will return to Carabao Cup action when they travel to face rival Manchester City in the round of 16.
