Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde has cleared the air on his future amid reports linking him with a move to Chelsea this summer.
Following the arrival of Jude Bellingham at Santiago Bernabeu, Valverde’s future at the club became a subject of speculation but the Spaniard says he has no plans of leaving Los Blancos.
Valverde described Real Madrid as the best team in the world, insisting there was no better place to be.
The Blues, whose new manager, Mauricio Pochettino will begin work on July 1,are looking to strengthen their squad this summer transfer window and are chasing several midfield options.
Pochettino’s side were linked with a €100 million bid for Valverde but will have to look elsewhere as the midfielder has no plans to leave Real Madrid this summer.
Speaking to the media on Saturday, Valverde said, “No, no, I am at Real Madrid. I try to enjoy and value every moment,” Valverde was quoted by GOAL as saying.
“I want to leave my mark on this team, which is the best in the world, and also continue to win titles for the fans.”
