Sadio Mane transfer latest: Bayern Munich wages revealed as Liverpool star set to earn more

Liverpool star Sadio Mane decides about leaving club

Sadio Mané of Liverpool has been linked with German heavyweights Bayern Munich for most parts of the recently concluded 2021/22 season.

According to BILD, if the Senegalese international were to complete the move, his annual wages would be around €20 million (£17 million).

Mané has won every major trophy since joining Liverpool for £34 million from Southampton in 2016, including the Premier League and Champions League titles, as well as the 2018/19 Golden Boot Award with 22 goals. He quickly established himself as a key member of Liverpool’s squad.

However, in the days leading up to the Champions League final, it was revealed that the Liverpool man was dissatisfied with his current role at the club and was considering a new challenge elsewhere, with Bayern Munich leading the race to sign him.

Mané, who earns £6.2 million (€7.2 million) per year, is Liverpool’s fourth highest earner, behind Mohammed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk, and summer signing Thiago.

It is clear that the former Saint is gradually realising that his situation at Liverpool is deteriorating, and that a move to German giants Bayern Munich will boost his confidence and allow him to play his best football for a club that values him highly. With a yearly salary of €20 million, Mané would be one of Bayern’s highest earners, more than doubling his current earnings at Liverpool.

With Liverpool asking a surprisingly low set price of £42.5 million for the forward and Bayern Munich’s star striker Robert Lewandowski expected to leave for Barcelona this summer, it seems almost certain that the Liverpool number 10 will join the German club.
