Romelu Lukaku will strangely don the number 90 jersey for Serie A team Inter Milan in the upcoming campaign, a move that has generated a lot of discussion among fans.
The striker, 29, has returned to Inter Milan on a season-long loan after scoring 15 goals in 44 games for Chelsea last season after leaving Inter Milan for a club-record £97.5 million transfer fee.
Inter paid the Belgian international a loan fee of £6.9 million, plus £3.5 million in bonuses if they win the Scudetto, and he will join up with his teammates in the coming days.
Lukaku will don the number 90 jersey for the 2022–23 season, according to an Inter announcement made shortly after the agreement was official.
“Romelu Lukaku is back in black and blue,” a statement on their official website said. “After arriving in Milan and popping into Inter HQ to meet president Steven Zhang, the Belgium striker spoke to Inter TV before revealing his new shirt number for the coming campaign: No.90.”
