Spanish giants, Real Madrid knocked defending champions, Chelsea out of the UEFA Champions League after defeating the Blues 2-3 (5-4 aggregate) at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in the second leg of their quarter-final clash on Tuesday.
Mason Mount gave Chelsea the opener in the 15th minute.
Antonio Rudiger scored a brilliant header at the resumption of play, before Timo Werner’s perfect strike put Chelsea on the lead on aggregate.
But substitute Rodrygo responded to pull Real Madrid level five minutes later and force extra time, where Karim Benzema put the Los Blancos ahead with another headed goal in the tie.
Chelsea came into the game two goals down following last week’s 3-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge.
