The debate on who is the best right-back between Reece James and Trent Alexander-Arnold returned on Saturday following Chelsea’s disappointing 4-1 defeat at St. James Park.
Many supporters of Chelsea feel their captain is the best in the position he plays for club and country.
Some also feel that James is the best passer and crosser of the ball despite Alexander-Arnold always showing up in big moments.
Alexander-Arnold scored Liverpool’s equaliser against Manchester City in their 1-1 draw earlier in the Premier League today while James was sent off when Chelsea were 3-1 down against Newcastle.
“Reece James moved from “pocketing Jeremy Doku”[against Man City two weeks ago] to getting bodied by a random guy from St. James Park . Anthony Gordon owns him,” a fan wrote.
“Trent secured a draw at the Etihad while Reece James got sent off against Newcastle while his team were losing 3-1. We are not the same,” another said.
“Trent Arnold >>> Reece James. One scored today, the other collected a Red card.” Another fan said.
“Saying Reece James is the “most” overrated RB is false. Yes, the hype is overboard but he’s good,” a fan noted.
“Everytime I watch a Chelsea match, I always ask myself who was the madman that started the Reece James vs Trent Arnold debate,” says another fan.
