Manchester City have made eight changes from the side who lost 2-0 to Southampton in the Carabao Cup in midweek.
In come Ederson, Nathan Ake and Manuel Akanji into the backline, with Aymeric Laporte and Sergio Gomez dropping to the bench where Rico Lewis remains.
Rodri, Kevin de Bruyne and Bernardo Silva make up the champions’ midfield once again, while Erling Haaland and Riyad Mahrez are chosen to partner Phil Foden up front.
Manchester United make nine changes from their win over Charlton in the Carabao Cup, with only Tyrell Malacia and Fred retaining their places.
The big news is that Luke Shaw starts at centre back ahead of club captain Harry Maguire – that’s a damning reflection on Maguire’s standing in Erik ten Hag’s thoughts right now.
Shaw partners Raphael Varane in defence, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right-back, due to Diogo Dalot’s injury, in what could be a huge game for his Manchester United future.
Fred and Casemiro are joined in midfield by Christian Eriksen, with Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford in attack with Anthony Martial, who has been passed fit to play.
Among the subs, Kobbie Mainoo retains his place in the squad after making his debut in midweek, while Alejandro Garnacho and Antony are other options if Ten Hag needs a goal.
