I won’t watch an NPFL match if there is an EPL game on TV – Jay Jay Okocha

Former Nigeria midfielder, Austin Jay Jay Okocha, has revealed he would rather watch the English Premier League (EPL) than a game from the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Okocha made this admission during the EPL trophy tour in Nairobi, Kenya.

“I don’t think I’d watch the Nigerian League if there is a Premier League match on television, that is if I am being honest, because the Premier League is more attractive,” he stated.

“We need to go back to the drawing board and give ourselves time and put something together that will make our leagues attractive.'”

During his playing career, Okocha featured for English teams like Bolton Wanderers and Hull City.
