Gunners thrash Tottenham to win historic WSL north London derby

Gunners thrash Tottenham

In front of a record crowd at Emirates Stadium, Arsenal defeated Tottenham with ease thanks to two goals from Vivianne Miedema.

The Emirates Stadium witnessed history on Saturday as a WSL record 47,367 spectators watched Arsenal defeat North London rivals Tottenham 4-0 as Beth Mead scored the game’s opening goal.

Before Rafaelle Souza scored the third goal with a header and Miedema added her second, the Gunners’ lead was doubled by Miedema.

38,262 people attended the reverse match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2019 to set the previous Women’s Super League record.

Arsenal’s victory on Saturday was their tenth straight triumph in the WSL.

The Gunners applied constant pressure, and a supportive crowd was eager to contribute to intimidating Tottenham, who found it difficult to get involved in the game.
