Paris Saint-Germain coach Christophe Galtier and defender Sergio Ramos have reacted to the rumours that forward Kylian Mbappe wants to leave the club.
Reports have it that Mbappe has asked to leave the club just months after he turned down an offer from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
His decision has reportedly been influenced by his unhappiness at the club that he joined from Monaco.
Reacting to the rumours, Galtier said his team’s training session was not affected by it.
“I know nothing,” Galtier said when asked about the reports following Tuesday’s game.
“All I know is that a rumour became a story and then that almost became a declaration.
“I found it very surprising that such a story should come out just before such a big game.”
He added, “I didn’t see anything unusual in Kylian’s preparation for the game, and he played with a lot of rhythm and intensity and gave a response to the rumours.
“We remained focused on the match and I don’t think the rumour disrupted our preparations.”
On his part, Ramos said he was surprised when he heard about the rumour.
“The only thing I can tell you is that I am friends with Kylian; he is very happy here,” the Spaniard told Canal+.
“I don’t believe in rumours, we are focused on our work, we don’t read the newspapers.”
He added when speaking to ESPN: “The news around us even surprises us sometimes. I hope he will be here for many years.”
