Chelsea winger, Raheem Sterling, has apologized to fans after he missed a penalty in their FA Cup quarter-final clash against Leicester on Sunday.
With the Blues leading 1-0, Sterling had the chance to double their lead when he stepped up for a penalty after 26 minutes.
While he made up for the mistake by assisting Cole Palmer’s goal at the end of the half, Leicester managed to pull level after the break before two late goals from the Blues ensured they progressed to the semi-finals.
Despite the win, Sterling took to Instagram to express his regret to the club’s fans, writing: “To all the Chelsea fans, apologies for the penalty miss.
“I’ll be back 10x times stronger to help the team win and continue to keep fighting for the badge every single day.”
