Europa League: Balogun scores as Rangers thrash Red Star Belgrade 3-0

Super Eagles defender, Leon Balogun was on the score sheet as Glasgow Rangers defeated Red Star Belgrade 3-0 in the first leg of their Europa League round of 16 clash on Thursday.

James Tavernier gave the hosts the lead in the 11 minute from the penalty box before Alfredo Morelos scored a fantastic goal to make it 2-0 in the first-half at Ibrox.

Crvena Zvezda had a chance to reduce the deficit when they were awarded a penalty but Allan McGregor made a brilliant save to keep the score 2-0.

Super Eagles defender extended Gers’ lead in the 51st minute to make it 3-0 after heading in a corner.

Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo and defender Calvin Bassey were also impressive for the Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side in the game.
