Chelsea forward, Raheem Sterling has reacted to Gareth Southgate’s decision to drop him from the England squad.
The former Liverpool and Manchester star has enjoyed an impressive start to the new season.
However, there was no room for him in the Three Lions squad for the European Championship qualifier against Ukraine and the friendly against Scotland.
Reacting to his national team manager’s decision, Sterling released a statement via his representatives saying he respects Southgate’s decision.
Sterling said he will continue focusing on his form at club level.
“Raheem will revert to the coach for all comment but would like to reinforce that the decision has been respected,” the statement read.
“Raheem will continue to focus on his domestic form.”
