EPL: Rodrigo praised after Leeds’ 3-0 victory over Chelsea

Leeds forward Rodrigo

Micah Richards lavished praise on Leeds forward Rodrigo after he continued his impressive play with a goal against Chelsea, capping off an ‘absolutely magnificent’ victory for Jesse Marsch’s team.

Rodrigo scored the team’s first goal of the year in their 2-1 victory over Wolves on August 6. And in their 2-2 draw with Southampton last weekend, he scored both goals for Leeds.

The Spaniard, who moved to Leeds from Valencia in a £26 million deal two years ago, was back at it today (Sunday). He created alot of issues for the Chelsea centre-backs as Leeds defeated them 3-0 at Elland Road.

Marsch’s team scored a third goal by the 69th min into the game.  In the final ten minutes, things got even worse for Chelsea as Kalidou Koulibaly was given a second yellow card for pulling substitute Joe Gelhardt’s back.

The Blues defender’s dismissal caused Thomas Tuchel to struggle with his starting lineup for Chelsea’s upcoming game.

Former striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink gave his analysis of the match on Sky Sports, saying: “Leeds did ever so well, very brave, they pressed from the front and controlled the game. I think Leeds were absolutely magnificent today.”
