EPL: Reactions as Crystal Palace overcame a 1-0 deficit to defeat Wolves 2-1 on Tuesday night at Selhurst Park

Eberechi Eze and Wilfried Zaha score for the Eagles, who come back from a goal down to go into the top half of the Premier League.

Wilfried Zaha showers praises on his manager and football legend, Patrick Vieira.

Hugo Bueno, making his first Premier League start, found Adama Traore with a superb cross, who then powered home to give the visitors the lead.

Ruben Neves’ free kick hit the post, and Diego Costa’s squandered opportunity would have given Wolves a bigger lead at the break.

Cheick Doucoure for Palace came close, but he scored a minute into the second half.

Eberechi Eze slammed in a fantastic ball that Michael Olise cut in from the right side.

Eze and Odsonne Edouard worked together until the latter passed the ball to Wilfried Zaha, who had the freedom of the box to convert the opportunity and secure three crucial points that take Palace into the top half.

Steve Davis, the Wolves interim manager, spoke with Amazon:

“If we had started the second half better, it would have been a different result.

“We started (the second half) very slow. We didn’t regroup and we have to recognise those moments when we are under pressure.

“I am disappointed with the result, but pleased with a lot of aspects of our game.”

Crystal Palace boss, Patrick Vieira also reacted to the game to Amazon:

“I don’t believe we deserved to be 1-0 down.

“But we came back onto the field with a really good attitude and the early goal in the second half built the confidence so we could go and get the win.

“We needed to keep the tempo high, and I think physically, they dropped a little bit and allowed us to play.”

Vieira also stated that they have players capable of scoring goals.

“We have players who are capable of scoring goals and it’s important for us to build on these kind of performances,” he added.

Wilfried Zaha to Amazon: “We all thought we were doing the right things, we just had to carry on, be relentless and pressure them higher up the pitch.”

Wilfried Zaha praised his manager, referring to him as a legend that makes a difference.

“Having such a legend as your manager makes a difference because he is telling me different things all the time.

“And how we play allows me to focus on the main thing, and that’s scoring goals,” he added.

Eberechi Eze who also scored a goal in the game reacted to Amazon:

“We gave everything today and with the quality we’ve got, we are always going to score goals.”

On his goal: “I know he’s (Olise) got the ability to make space and create chances, so I knew where to be and he’s got a lot of ability.

“We knew if we continued with the energy we had, it was going to pay off in the end.

“It’s beautiful (playing at home), they don’t know how powerful they are and how much energy they give us.”
