Manchester United manager, Ralf Rangnick, has added former New York Red Bulls coach Chris Armas to his backroom staff.
Rangnick himself was appointed United’s interim manager last week.
The German began his reign at the club with a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace.
The 63-year-old will only be in the role for around six months but he wants his own backroom staff in order to implement his preferred style of play.
Rangnick has a close relationship with Armas as the pair were both under the Red Bull network at the same time and the American is available after being sacked by Toronto FC.
It comes after Michael Carrick’s departure from Old Trafford, with the United legend announcing his intention to leave the club after the 3-2 win against Arsenal on Thursday.
There were early signs of Rangnick’s philosophy on display against Palace on Sunday, with United pressing the Eagles high in their own half and the back four playing on the halfway line.
