Serge Aurier, a former defender for Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain, has officially signed with Nottingham Forest on a free transfer.
The Ivorian right-back, who is still awaiting a UK visa, was not constrained by the transfer window because he was a free agent after leaving Villarreal after the previous campaign.
Since Forest’s promotion back to the Premier League, the summer has been incredibly busy, and Aurier’s arrival brings it to a close. Up to 21 fresh faces have signed up for the club this summer.
Aurier only started 10 La Liga games for Villarreal last season due to injury, international duty, and poor performance. In the Champions League knockout stages, he did participate five times, including as a substitute in both halves of the semifinal match against Liverpool.
Forest has had a difficult time finding successful outcomes so far this season. They currently only have four points out of a possible 18 and have dropped their last three Premier League games, including a 3-2 loss to Bournemouth last weekend after leading 2-0 at the break.
