Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has responded to calls to replace Kai Havertz with Fabio Vieira in his starting XI.
He said Vieira could force his way into the Gunners starting XI after the FIFA break following another eye-catching cameo on Sunday.
Vieira came on as a 77th minute substitute on Sunday’s 3-1 victory over Manchester United.
He replaced the somewhat ineffective Germany international, Kai Havertz.
Vieira did not just assist Gabriel Jesus’ goal in the final minutes of the stoppage time, but got on the ball and dictated proceedings.
The 23-year-old is yet to start for Arsenal so far this season.
Arteta was full of praise for the Portuguese.
Arteta was asked if Vieira might start Arsenal’s next match against Everton “Every player has a chance to do that.
“Today we decided to start with Kai, we knew that Fabio would have a big impact especially in the last few minutes, or final minutes if we needed something.
“Something has changed with Fabio, you notice with the crowd when he steps in he is different to how he was last year.
“He’s more mature, he’s more senior in the squad and his confidence in the squad is high so I’m really happy to have those options.”
