EPL: Leeds United boss delivers beautiful message to fans after home victory

After his team defeated Chelsea 3-0 at home to give them seven points for the year, Jesse Marsch declared that he “loves it” at Leeds.

Leeds defeated Chelsea in West Yorkshire thanks to goals from Brenden Aaronson, Rodrigo, and Jack Harrison. For the Whites to take the lead 33 minutes in, Aaronson took advantage of an Edouard Mendy error.

Prior to the Spaniard switching roles in the second half, Rodrigo headed a Harrison corner kick past Mendy. In order to prevent Chelsea from mounting a comeback, he placed the ball in Harrison’s path, and the winger volleyed home.

Marsch expressed his sincere gratitude to the Leeds supporters in a post-game interview with BBC Radio 5 Live.

“I love it here, I love our fans, our club. You have to enjoy it, this business is not easy,” the manager said.

“I felt like I belonged from day one. The team has to represent the identity of the club and the fan base. They are never out worked and never out run.

“The more we can build on performances, we can really build something. I wish everyone could see how hard these guys work every day. We have felt it in the inside for months now.

“In this league winning is never easy.”

In a separate post-match interview with Sky Sports, Marsch added: “It was a complete performance. We had a few different plans on what they [Chelsea] would look like and the guys did a good job of adjusting. We wanted to play with aggression but controlled and we accomplished our goals.

“From the first moment I came here I saw this was a special team. This [win] should mean hunger for us to want to improve.

“Our goal is never to be out run or out worked but also to add to not being out fought and if we can add these things together we can build something. You can see it coming together almost right before our eyes. It’s a good sign but there’s still so much more to do.”
