EPL: Chelsea sack Graham Potter as manager

Chelsea on Sunday, fired Graham Potter as their manager, after less than six months in charge.

Potter was appointed by new owner Todd Boehly after sacking Thomas Tuchel in September.

He left Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion to take the job but managed just 12 wins from over 30 games in charge.

Defeat to Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge on Saturday saw the Blues slip into the bottom half of the Premier League table. It proved the final straw as Boehly and the new Chelsea ownership group yielded the axe.

A club statement read: ” Chelsea FC has announced that Graham Potter has departed the club. Graham has agreed to collaborate with the Club to facilitate a smooth transition. In his time with the club, Graham has taken us to the quarter final of the Champions League, where we will face Real Madrid.

“Chelsea would like to thank Graham for all his efforts and contribution and wish him well for the future. Bruno Saltor will take charge of the team as Interim Head Coach.”
