Manchester United pulled off an impressive comeback win as they beat Brentford 2-1 in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Red Devils were looking to avoid a third consecutive defeat at Old Trafford.
However, they fell behind to Mathias Jensen’s goal, with Andre Onana failing to keep the ball out.
With the game looking like another loss, McTominay transformed the mood in Manchester, first firing in a rebound and then heading in from Harry Maguire’s flick-on a minute later to snatch all three points for United.
The Scotland midfielder’s goals led to joyous reactions within the United fanbase.
@AnnemarieDray felt the game was a tribute to Lady Cathy, the late wife of legendary boss, Sir Alex Ferguson.
“I’m really, really glad that – out of all of the players – that it was Scott McTominay who got to be the hero today. For Sir Alex,” he wrote.
@FrankLawson05 wrote: “Manchester United can never keep clean sheet to save their lives. Na Scot Mctominay come score for them.”
In @El_lee_Dare’s opinion, “Was always saying that we shouldn’t let Fred and McTominay go. They’re not starters but can be good options from the bench.”
