England XI vs Germany: Confirmed team news, predicted lineup, and injury updates for the UEFA Nations League.

Tonight, England will play host to Germany, and Gareth Southgate must make several crucial selections for his starting lineup.

Despite Eric Dier’s encouraging comeback to the team in Friday’s 1-0 loss to Italy, John Stones is back from suspension for the Nations League final and could take Eric Dier’s place in the middle of the back three.

In addition, Jordan Henderson will be available again under Southgate’s management following a minor injury, and the Liverpool captain may replace Jude Bellingham in the midfield.

Reece James and Bukayo Saka, England’s wing-back pairing, struggled against Italy, but Southgate will have options at Wembley with Ben Chilwell and Luke Shaw on the left and Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kieran Trippier vying for a spot on the right.

Although Phil Foden was England’s standout player on Friday night and Southgate is unlikely to drop Raheem Sterling with his team in dire need of goals, Mason Mount is also a candidate to return to the team.

Despite Nick Pope’s impressive performance in net last time out, Southgate may want to evaluate Aaron Ramsdale before deciding on Jordan Pickford’s backup in Qatar this winter.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jarrod Bowen, Fikayo Tomori and James Ward-Prowse have all been left out of the matchday squad.

Predicted England XI (3-4-3): Pope; Walker, Stones, Dier; James, Henderson, Bellingham, Shaw; Foden, Kane, Sterling.
