Edouard Mendy, the goalkeeper for Chelsea, has resumed training with the colleagues who stayed behind during the international break as he accelerates his rehabilitation from a knee injury.
The Senegal international was rested for the penultimate match of the Thomas Tuchel era against Dinamo Zagreb before being entirely shut out in Graham Potter’s debut as a result of the problem, which he is said to have picked up in the 2-1 victory against West Ham at the beginning of the month.
Mendy has been replaced by Kepa Arrizabalaga in the last two games, but Potter now likely has the option of bringing back the Blues’ regular number one for their trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday.
According to The Evening Standard, Mendy flew to France earlier this week to meet up with his Senegal teammates before returning to a brief training with the Chelsea players who were not selected for their respective national teams.
