Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta, has admitted that he is not giving Fabio Vieira a fair treatment at the club.
He said the Portuguese rightly deserved to be given more playing time.
Vieira, 23, joined Arsenal for £34 million from Porto in the summer of 2022.
He made only 14 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners that season.
Despite this, the midfielder has been impressive, helping Arsenal to seal a 1-0 win against Everton last weekend.
Having started the game against Everton, he would hope to keep his spot against PSV in the Champions League on Wednesday.
“That was my fault,” Arteta said when asked about the Vieira situation.
“I said that many times, I haven’t played him enough.
“He hasn’t had enough room in the team with the competitions that we play to participate more, but we see every day the talent he has got and what he can bring to the team.
“I was really happy with his performance at the weekend.”
He added, “To be happy, they have to play and they have to feel important.
“They have to feel valued and they have to feel that we trust them. It’s the only way to do it.”
