Nigeria opened their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations campaign with a 1-1 draw against Equatorial Guinea.
The Super Eagles are chasing their fourth continental crown and were heavy favourites against their opponents.
However, Victor Osimhen and Zaidu Sanusi failed to convert early chances in the game.
Equatorial Guinea then took the lead through Ivan Salvador’s composed finish.
Two minutes later, Nigeria were level, as Victor Osimhen rose highest to head home Ademola Lookman’s cross.
There were no goals in the second half of the game.
Jose Peseiro’s men are now second in Group A behind hosts Ivory Coast who they play next.
