The head coach of the Super Eagles, Jose Peseiro, has said he is yet to make a final decision on who will start in goal when they play Angola in their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final fixture on Friday.
First-choice goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, remains doubtful after sustaining a mild ligament injury in Nigeria’s Round of 16 win against Cameroon.
The Chippa United goalie has since returned to full training with his teammates.
Peseiro said a final decision on Nwabali’s availability for the clash will be made later today.
“We will do the final test on Thursday (today). After that we will decide whether he can start or not,” Peseiro told reporters.
“But we are confident in the other goalkeepers in the team. We have Francis Uzoho and Olorunleke Ojo. They are capable of replacing Stanley.”
