Nigerian pop star, Teni, has called on the Super Eagles to defeat South Africa in the 2023 African Cup of Nations semi-finals, in order to avenge Nigeria’s poor outing at the 2024 Grammys.
No Nigerian artiste won at the event.
South African singer Tyla won the award category for Best African Music Performance at the 66th Grammys for her song ‘Water’. She defeated Nigerian singers, Davido, Burnaboy, Asake, and Ayra Starr, who were nominated under the same category.
Expressing her displeasure, Teni in a video message shared via her social media page, urged Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman and others to make the Bafana Bafana pay dearly for it.
“Grammy there’s a problem. We have many parties. You have killed our groove.
“South Africa, Tyla’s ‘Water.’ Alright. [Victor] Osimhen, over to you. [Ademola] Lookman, over to you. South Africa, you will dance Amapiano after your AFCON defeat. You killed my groove. Grammy why?”
