2023 AFCON Qualifier: Super Eagles’ possible line-up against Sierra Leone

Nigeria Super Eagles World Cup

The Super Eagles return home after two defeats in the United States of America to the El-Tri of Mexico and Ecuador.

It will be the first Super Eagles match in Nigeria since the 1-1 draw with Ghana’s Black Stars at the MKO Abiola Stadium, which cost Nigeria a place in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The Super Eagles have a chance to appease their supporters, but they must first defeat Sierra Leone.

Super Eagles expected line-up

In Ivory Coast, the Super Eagles begin their quest to qualify for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) against a Sierra Leone side with whom they have previously struggled.

The Super Eagles were unable to defeat Sierra Leone both at home and away during the World Cup qualification process.

Peseiro’s lineup

New coach Peseiro started off with a back three in the game against Mexico. He showed flexibility returning to a 4-4-2 formation in the loss against Ecuador.

With some personnel changes, Peseiro is expected to stick with the formation against Ecuador.

With Napoli striker Osimhen returning to the team after missing the two friendly games, he now has more quality in attack.

The Super Eagles are expected to start Ademola Lookman and Ola Aina when they face Sierra Leone behind closed doors at the MKO Abiola Stadium.

Defenders – William Troost-Ekong, Ola Aina, Calvin Bassey and Semi Ajayi

Midfield – Alex Iwobi, Joe Aribo,Innocent Bonke and Ademola Lookman,.

Attack – Victor Osimhen and Cyriel Dessers
