A loyalist of former Governor of Ogun State, Olusegun Osoba, expressed their dissatisfaction with the incumbent Governor Dapo Abiodun.
Describing the incumbent Government as an ingrate, the Osoba fans through tantrums at the sitting Governor.
The crisis between the Governor and Osoba loyalists began following the appointment of political offices to individuals by Dapo Abiodun, excluding the loyalists of Osoba who claimed to be very instrumental to his victory as Governor under the All Progressive Congress, APC.
Hitting its peak in December 2019, the loyalist of Osoba brewed with violence after Abiodun named all his commissioner nominees without selecting any of them.
The former Governors’ loyalist under the ‘Osoba Political Family’ reveals that some conservatively greedy businessmen and hijackers of power have succeeded in confusing Abiodun.
Reminding Abiodun that Osoba was a strong supporter who helped him in becoming the Governor of the state, yet he failed to include the Osoba political family when making political appointments.
It was gathered that the internal discord had not been settled since 2019.
In a viral video made available to newsmen, Osoba loyalist was seen pouring out their grievances as they defile all security protocols at a political function that held in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital.
Reports have it that Gov Abiodun had on Tuesday followed Osoba to his Ward at Sodubi in Abeokuta in respect to the on-going APC Membership Registration and Revalidation Exercise.
This was after the Governor with Osoba welcomed Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at Ikenne for the same exercise.
Following the arrival of Osoba and Abiodun at Abeokuta for the Akinrogun’s membership revalidation, many of the party loyalists came to receive them as they sang in praises and parables honoring Osoba -”“You have been enduring it for long, God will help you, Akinrogun…” they sang.
The show later turns to Abiodun as Osoba loyalist sang to express their displeasure at how Abiodun’s Government was treating them.
In a show of their dissatisfaction, the aggrieved member dropped their brooms before Osoba, who approached them to calm the situation.
They sang as Osoba approached, “Oga, we are being maltreated. The suffering is too much.”
As he motioned for them to be calm so he could address them, they roared another song interpreted to mean, “Look at the ingrates. Very soon, you will be severely dealt with.”
Osoba, at this point, had to ask if he was the one been insulted by the song, they responded;
“Oga, not you. It’s unfair to struggle in politics without any benefit after winning the election.”
