Ekiti State former Governor Mr. Ayodele Fayose has denied meeting with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde to reconcile their differences today.
Fayose and Makinde had caused a stir in the People’s Democratic Party PDP in the South-West region as they support different factions of the party.
Both leaders of the party have supported and nominated different men and women for the party’s political positions in the upcoming zonal congress of the party in the South-West.
In a bid to reconcile the two leaders, the Ex-Governor of Osun state reportedly set a peace meeting.
Fayose supporters allegedly shunned the peace meeting earlier scheduled by Oyinlola, alleging that it’s for his “is self-serving and for personal gains.”
The former Ekiti state governor, while reacting to reports that he would be attending a reconciliation meeting with Makinde, he tweeted, “My attention has been drawn to a publication that I will attend a reconciliation meeting by former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, today (Friday).
“Let me state clearly that I have no business with Prince Oyinlola’s so-called reconciliation.”
The crisis between Fayose and Makinde started over the latter’s role in the Ekiti PDP crisis as well as the leadership of the party in the South-West.
The discord between Fayose and Makinde began following Makinde’s alleged role in the Ekiti PDP crisis and the party’s leadership in South West.
