Benjamin Okezie Kalu, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, has hailed the ruling of the election petition tribunal sitting in Umuahia, Abia State, for striking out the petition against his victory by the Action Alliance, AA.

Kemi Filani News recalls that the tribunal had delivered a judgement on the petition filed by the candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Frank Chinasa, in the February 25, 2023 elections for Bende Federal Constituency of Abia State in Kalu’s favour.

Due to inconsistency in his name, the three-person tribunal-led Justice Samson Paul Gang denied Chinasa’s prayers to declare Kalu unqualified for the elections.

The tribunal ruled that Kalu followed due process to validate his name, saying the petition was unnecessary.

Also, the tribunal struck out the petition filed by the AA candidate against Kalu on Thursday.
