OMG, I am so excited right now! God bless America. History was once again re-written in the US in the early hours of today as Obama was re-elected as the US president.
Of course, it was a very strong contest between the re-elect and his opponent, Romney. Barack Obama was re-elected as the President of America, after defeating Mitt Romney, in a fierce battle. Although it was predicted to be a close race, Obama comfortably won in
the battleground states, after Romney could not penetrate Wisconsin,
Pennsylvania and Michigan, despite investing millions of dollars on TV
ads.
It does appear President Obama, had been confident of a win, as he spent
the day playing basketball at a gym near his Chicago home.
He has sent an e-mail to those who signed up to his campaign, and it
read: “Friend, I’m about to go speak to the crowd here in Chicago, but I
wanted to thank you first.
“I want you to know that this wasn’t fate, and it wasn’t an accident. You made this happen.
“You organised yourselves block by block. You took ownership of this
campaign five and ten dollars at a time. And when it wasn’t easy, you
pressed forward.
“I will spend the rest of my presidency honouring your support, and doing what I can to finish what we started.
“But I want you to take real pride, as I do, in how we got the chance in the first place.
“Today is the clearest proof yet that, against the odds, ordinary Americans can overcome powerful interests.
“There’s a lot more work to do.
“But for right now: Thank you.
Barack”
Also, Mitt Romney has sent a congratulatory message to Obama! Our Nigerian leaders should learn from these two guys, been elected is not supoosed to be a do or die affair…even after the elections, Romney was nice enough to congratulate Obama. How many Nigerian leaders can do that?
