It is widely believed that a speech by Zulu King, Goodwill Zwelithini
started the violent xenophobic attacks foreign nationals by locals.
In the speech, the king had said that foreigners must pack up and leave the country.
The Zulu king lamented that fact that traders in the townships could
not compete with the prices that foreign-owned businesses were selling
their products.
He also complained about the fact that foreigners involved in crime as well as lacking respect to locals.
