Russia-Ukraine war: First batch of Nigerian evacuees arrives Abuja

The first batch of Nigerian evacuees from Poland due to the Russia-Ukraine war arrived the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, today (Friday, March 4, 2022).
Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NIDCOM boss, Abudu Dabiri- Erewa who disclosed this via Twitter said the evacuees arrived the airport at 7:11 a.m. on Friday via Max Air.
Dabiri- Erewa while noting that that plans continue towards the successful evacuation of the remaining stranded citizens, revealed that that another flight from Hungary is also expected to arrive Nigeria soon.
Recall that the Federal Government had Thursday postponed the arrival of the first batch of Nigerian evacuees earlier expected to arrive the country on Thursday. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs official, Bolaji Akinremi, had said that the postponement was due to a delay in preparing passengers for the check-in process.
