The Nigerian and Cameroonian joint force has warded off a gang of armed boys said to be the militant wing of the Biafra Nation League, BnL, when they attempted to drop explosives into warships near Ikang Abana in the Bakassi Peninsula.
Kemi Kilnai News gathered the Militants on Saturday targeted to drop explosives on the warships but could not advance further due to superior firepower.
Sources in the neighbourhood believe that the Nigerian Navy may be conducting training exercises on the waters involving the testing of some heavy guns.
Other sources stated that Cameroon may have redeployed their forces to beef up security in the Joint border security.
“We know that Cameroon may have also deployed men of the Rapid Intervention Battalion, BIR, in response to an alleged shootout between Biafra separatist militants, the Black Marine, and joint border security forces a few days ago”, the source said.
It was learnt that Cameroonian military officers seemed to have called for more reinforcement of troops in the Isangele and Idabato subdivisions in the Peninsula.
The militant group has been agitating for a sovereign state of Biafra, warning the federal government to release Nnamdi Kanu and asking Cameroonian authority to withdraw its men from Bakassi Peninsula.
