The late Nollywood actress, Ada Ameh wasn’t only a senior colleague to Chinedu Ikedieze, but his nonbiological mother.

The movie star in an interview with Chude Jideonwo, revealed that Ada Ameh was like a mother to him.

Before her death, Ada Ameh played the role of his mother (Emuakpo Johnson) in the award-winning family comedy series, The Johnsons.

According to Chinedu, Ada Ameh was a mother to him both off-screen and on-screen and he was left devastated by her death.

He disclosed that he met with her outside production severally and people always mistook her for his biological mother.

“Ada was like a mother to me, you know!

She took that character off the screen. As in, even outside production. I have met her severally outside, you know, that people will say ‘see your Pikin’. You know that kind of a thing. So it was like losing a part of me. It was really. In fact, that was the least story or information or news I opted to hear.

That’s the biggest shock of our lives. That’s all of us. The Johnsons. It broke us… Forever”.

Chinedu Ikedieze mourns Ada Ameh

Recall that Actress Ada Ameh slumped and died on Sunday, 17th July 2022, around 11 pm in Warri, Delta State.

Reports from multiple sources claimed Ameh was a guest of an oil company toyshop and his family when she suddenly collapsed.

Mourning her, Chinedu expressed his deep shock over the loss.

The Abia State-born veteran actor revealed how they were told to wait longer to physically confirm that indeed Ada Ameh was gone.

Bading her goodbye, he noted how she would be greatly missed as she is irreplaceable.

Last month marked her one-year anniversary and her best friend, Empress Njamah had paid tribute to her.

Reminiscing on their last moment, Empress shared a video of Ada Ameh getting glammed up as they sang and danced to Kizz Daniel’s, Buga song.

Empress revealed that it was the last time she saw Ada, and if she had known she would have stayed back, but God knows best.

Empress went on to recount the amazing time they had together; eating, laughing, and crying.

In another post, Empress stated that the memories of Ada Ameh will always bring a smile to get.

The movie star wished that she could bring back Ada for a little chat, as she meant so much to her, adding that the fact that Ada Ameh isn’t here will always cause her pain but she’s forever in her heart till they meet again.
